Thanksgiving day fun from an old newspaper funny papers section year unknown

Wishing everyone reading this blog either in the United States or those citizens abroad a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you are celebrating it with loved ones and if you don't have family to celebrate it with, then someone you are close to and care about. So what are you thankful for? Me? The return of my eyesight. I am so grateful and thankful to God that he answered my prayer and restored my sight to me. I hope to never experience the fear of going blind again! I hope I will always remember what it felt like to have no depth perception and feeling completely helpless and useless when I wasn't able to see anything and I was blind in one eye and barely could see out of the other. I liken the sensation to viewing the world through wax paper and Vaseline. Cover one eye with wax paper and close the other. What do you see? Anything? Shadows? Shapes? That was what I was seeing out of my left eye. Now take a piece of plastic or clear glass and smear it with a coating of petroleum jelly and close your other eye. You can still see through the glass but nothing is really clear. That was my right eye. So I have so much to be thankful for this holiday season.

In the Greek's Royal mistress Chantal's grandmother has died and Demetrius has no choice but to take her back to the mainland for the funeral. Everything seemed to be okay until they got back from the funeral and Chantal found a bouquet of dead roses on her bed. Demetris didn't let her read the note that accompanied the flowers but if she had she would have seen the sinister message that her "admirer" was waiting for her back in St. Croix (not the island but a "kingdom" on the border of Spain and France) which of course would have caused Chantal to worry even more as her daughter is there. Her grandparents didn't take her to the funeral which disappointed Chantal as she had been looking forward to seeing her again.  She hadn't seen Lilly in three months. 

I couldn't let this day go by without at least a paper doll in celebration of our day of thanks. I hope everyone is having a blessed day. Be kind to your fellow man not only during the holidays but all year long. Bring a smile to someone who may be having a rough day/life and your smile just might make them see that things aren't as bad as they seem to be.

 I like the dress with the apron. Do women still wear aprons when they cook? I know I don't. I haven't worn an apron since I was a child and helped my Mother out when she cooked dinner. The turkey will be done in a couple of hours so it is about time for me to begin preparing the rest of the meal so...
