Still trying to save money for Sweetie Pie's surgery. and now that I mention it...that cyst that was on her
neck is healing, extremely slowly, but it is smaller. If it continues to do so I may not need to have it surgically removed. The problem is keeping Drooler and Chance, my two males, from mounting her. As I
said in a previous post, they don't realize they are neutered cats and think they still have the...um...euipment to reproduce. I'll have to be extra diligent and try and keep them from biting her neck. It will cost $400.00 to have Sweetie's teeth taken care of. Although it is difficult to come up with the money, it's easier to achieve than $700.00.

My real concern is that Sweetie is in pain. She "cries" for no reason, whether she's eaten or not and I am wondering if her teeth are bothering her. It stands to reason that they might be especially after seeing the bad tooth on the right side of her mouth. It's worrisome but there isn't much I can really do until I can gather the funds together. I can only hope she continues to eat. Once she stops because it's uncomfortable for her...well I won;t have to much of a choice...I don't want her to starve so the only alternative is to put her to sleep. Much as it pains me to say it, it's cheaper to put her down than have the surgery done. $40.00 I can do right now, $400.00...not so much. I'm preparing for the worst but I'm SO hoping that I can get the money saved in time to have her teeth done.

A friend of mine recently pointed out to me that Sweetie Pie appeared to be "lopsided". I'd never really noticed it before but she actually is...or rather her eyes are. One is bigger than the other. When I looked at several photos that I have of her, her right eye is bigger than her left. And the right is more open than the left as well. Funny really because I've had her for 12 years and I never noticed it before she pointed it out to me.
In keeping with how I started this blog I wanted to mention one of the books I've read. This time it's a modern romance by Penny Jordan entitled Mistaken Adversary. An extremely good book, one of Jordon's best as far as I'm concerned. It tells the story of Georgia, who's Aunt is terminally ill, and of Mitch Fletcher who rents a room in her cottage.Without giving away the plot (I'm one who dislikes those who do reviews and virtually tell the entire story in their review), let me say this: unless you have a heart of stone, this book will move you. I found myself alternately weeping and smiling throughout the story. It's one of her earlier ones, written in 1992 and well worth the read.
I'm always trying to find among my paper doll collection a newspaper paper doll that will coincide with the date this blog is published. Sometimes I'm successful and sometimes I'm not. This time I was successful. I present a Boots from 1962. I really can't see Boots in the clothes from the 1960's. I always have fun with these old paper dolls. Especially now that there are photo programs where you can cut these out to your hearts content without ever cutting out the real one. Which is what I did with Boots here. I put the pants outfit on her and got rid of the background. I can think of all kinds of uses for her. In the newspaper version the skin tone doesn't match but with the help of Photoshop I cut and pasted her arm so that the color tone would match. I also had to do some adjusting of her feet. The slacks didn't quite go over her heel so I moved her feet just a smidge to make them fit. properly. I haven't actually printed her up to see if the outfits fit properly because I can't afford to waste paper or ink. LOL If anyone is actually reading this and decides to print her out, let me know if the outfits fit correctly. I actually had to do some alterations to the paper doll itself. As I've mentioned in a previous post, the person I bought the CD from that had the paper dolls on it took photos of the dolls and didn't scan them. Which would have made for a better quality doll and perhaps the clothes would fit better.
Well, as it's almost midnight Pacific time, I had better post this in keeping with the paper doll I've just uploaded. I will try to post tomorrow Boots wearing the dress. Until. next time...
