The paper doll for today is another Boots from 1956.
And converted to black and white...
I'm reading a new book (while waiting to receive a couple more Arnette Lamb novels) entitled The Kyriakis Bride by Sara Wood. Good thus far even though I'm only into the first few pages. Emma was accused of fraud and the brother of her husband, who was killed in an auto accident,
had her put in jail. She has a daughter who she desperately wants to see but Leon, who she also once had an affair with before finding out he was engaged to be married, refuses to let her see her daughter and in fact has whisked Lexi away to his Greek island. Two years into her five year sentence she is released because she was literally dying in confinement. Determined to at least have access to her daughter, Emma travels to Zakynthos an island where Leon has sway, in order to set up some kind of arrangement to see her daughter. Leon, however, has been given the heads up by security at the airport. Emma hasn't changed her name and the man recognized it and called him. Leon is waiting or her when she emerges from the terminal building but doesn't let her know right off that he is there. Instead he trails behind her until she sees him greet her solicitor then he makes it known that he is right behind her. Against his advice, she goes off alone to discuss visiting arrangements with Leon. And that/s where I left the two of them, Emma pleading with Leon to allow her to see her child. The lawyer, it might be noted has allowed Emma to believe that Leon neglects Lexi by not giving her any love an affection which isn't the case at all. He adores his little niece. As I said, interesting thus far. I'm interested to see how this all pans out. Even though I know they will eventually get together, it's how they go about it that is interesting.
I'm in the process of making a Halloween themed paper doll. I have the base done and one outfit for her. I haven't decided whether to reduce her or leave her at her 8 inch size. If I reduce her I can give her more outfits as it does take a lot of pages if I leave her in her present size. The pose is from a pin-up from a Katy Keen comic book of her with a rake. I actually did one of her holding a broom instead which I will use in some of her costumes. For the doll, however, I did away with the broom so I can put her other arm in other positions. The last new doll I did was Summer Sally, I'm determined to have a few more paper doll sets done by the end of the year.
I'm coloring this as I go along. The color version. I decided I liked it without shading so am leaving it as I've colored it.
ALOHA!!!
